Amanda Moore is eager and excited to serve as President of the RVA Creative Wellness Center board.
From Virginia Beach, Amanda relocated to Richmond at just 18-years-old and completed a Human Service Program with a focus on social work. Amanda served as President of the Human Services club for her institution, and upon completion, worked with adults suffering from mental illness at Gateway Homes in Chesterfield County.
Upon the birth of her first child in 2009, she decided to try the stay-home-mother role which suited her well. She had another child in 2010 and in 2012 and loved spending time caring for them but also wanted more. Knowing how fortunate she was/is to be able to stay home with her kids, she wanted to give back to her community however possible. She would organize charity events for friends she grew up with dealing with illnesses or local children who were sick. Eventually, in 2011, she co-founded the Richmond Mom Prom which she started with a partner but is now solely in charge. Three years ago, Amanda and a friend started the Hampton Roads Mom Prom which was immediately a huge success. Last year, Amanda and her partner sold 800 tickets in six minutes! Her fundraising efforts over the years have raised close to $300,000 and that number is continually growing with each event.
Early 2018, Amanda created The Pay It Forward Mom, a YouTube channel, and mission to spread kindness and giving nature while supporting other women in their life journeys. On the channel you can find everything from discussions on marriage, motherhood, giving back to your community, and pure honestly from a real person striving to communicate that perfection is overrated.
Amanda is thrilled for the future of the RVA Creative Wellness Center and looks forward to serving such an incredible and important mission.
